Quality of workmanship: Excellent. When working on a house that is ca90 years old there is always the issue of mixing new and old. Barry & Leigh managed to match skirting boards, architraves, ceiling heights and finishing to the existing details very well, with only a few clues (internally) that the house had not originally been designed and built that way. Although the expansion is obvious from the outside we are very pleased with the appearance, something Barry & Leigh thought and worked hard to achieve.
Subcontractors: Plumbing: Greg Peters was great, always happy to discuss details and delivered a great job. We have since used him on a separate job and been equally pleased. Electricals: Matt was good, everything is where it should be and works. He gave lots of notice for when space was needed to run cables etc and completed the work when he said he would. Roofing: Ky from Countywide Roofing was great, as were his guys and subcontractors. They worked like stink, sometimes in horrible weathers and delivered a quality job.Scaffolding: All good hardworking guys that worked all hours to ensure it was up when needed and out of the way when required. Cost: We are very pleased with the result and what we paid for it. The original quote was very detailed and enabled both Barry and ourselves to always know what the financial situation was as things changed. Both the changes and additions were dealt with individually and very fairly, with costs agreed before progressing. Barry also looked to suggest areas where we could save money or improve the output by either changing a design or fitting detail, which he left for us to decide upon a case by case basis. In fact I think it was on day 1 or 2 he suggested a change that improved the finished product and saved us ca £2000! Thank you Barry!
Would we use Barry & Leigh again?Definitely, they are often very busy (I can see why they are popular!) but even if I had to delay my next project to secure them I would if I possibly could.
